Chaplain Al & Terri Novak
Forgotton Man Ministries
Ministry Information
Chaplain Al Novak started as a full time missionary with Forgotten Man Ministries in 1985 at the Genesee County Jail. Formerly a police officer for 17 years in Metro-Detroit, Chaplain Al coordinates all of the ministry programs at the jail utilizing one paid (part-time) assistant chaplain, Sue Nolff, and 27 volunteer associate chaplains along with over 150 volunteers. The ministry focus is pure evangelistic as a clear gospel witness goes forth to 650 inmates daily and 280 sheriff's staff at the county jail and road patrol. In addition to coordinating all of the "inside the jail" ministries (e.g. book cart ministry, preaching teams, personal Biblical counseling, Bible & Bible Correspondence Course distribution, 40 group Bible classes a week, Christian worship services each week, jail chaplaincy training for volunteers, and more) Chaplain Al shares the heartbeat of this ministry with interested Christians through speaking engagments, annual stewardship dinner, newsletters, mission conferences, and church reports. In addition he serves as the Eastern District Chaplain for Forgotten Man Ministries.
